Rehberg: Letter to the Editor & the Earthlink Lobby

The following is a great letter to the editor from a Mr. Bob Guilfoyle featured in the Billing Gazette today:

Letter: A change from Rehberg would do us some good

U.S. Rep. Dennis Rehberg kicks off his reelection bid by cautioning us against the call for change, saying, “Change isn’t always a good thing.”
My question is, “Isn’t good for who?”
Not good for Rehberg’s big-oil buddies who have crippled us with $3.98 a gallon diesel fuel while making obscene war profits and enjoying his tax breaks?
Not good for Bear Stearns and other Wall Street friends of Rehberg’s who have lined their pockets with “performance bonuses” while bankrupting their financial institutions, only to be bailed out by the working taxpayers of this country?
Not good for Rehberg’s friends at Halliburton, KBR and other larcenous, no-bid, no-performance government contractors in Iraq?
Rehberg’s notion of socialism for the rich and free enterprise for the working poor is in severe need for change. Rubberstamp Rehberg has got to go.

Also, it looks like Denny is being a little slight of hand with his relationship with Earthlink Inc.

Julia Gustafson, a former legislative director for Rep. Dennis Rehberg, R-Mont., is among those registered to lobby for the company, which spent more than $1 million in the first six months of 2007 to lobby. The company also lobbied on other matters, including online child safety and emergency 911 calls using Internet telephone service, during that time.

Lobbyists are required to disclose activities that could influence members of the executive and legislative branches, under a federal law enacted in 1995.
