Jim Hunt: A Good Start
I want to express my enthusiasm about Jim Hunt for coming out strong against Rehberg and not waisting anytime after a some what late campaign launch.
Jim Hunt… has been especially vocal in labeling Rehberg a consistent supporter of unpopular Bush policies, such as the Iraq war.
“Our statistics show that he has voted with Bush about 95 percent of the time,” Hunt said in a recent interview. “I think what he’s done is start backing off from that a little bit.”
“His [Rehberg's] values are out of touch with Montanans. I’m a retired Lt. Colonel with the Montana National Guard. I understand what it will take to get out of Iraq. I don’t think Congressman Rehberg understands what it will take to get out of Iraq. He has voted with the current administration right down the line.”

When asked why he thinks he should replace Congressman Denny Rehberg, he claimed his opponent is out of touch with what Montanans want. “We’re spending $5,000 dollars a second in Iraq, $12 billion a month and he says it’s not his job to second guess the President. And he’s wrong about that. If Congress doesn’t second guess the President no one will. I will second guess the President.”

Jim Hunt is making the right move: pinning Rehberg, as he rightly should, to Bush and his failed administration. Hunt is truly encouraging – we, the voters, need to start giving him a lot more attention, a lot more. We also need to highlight Rehberg’s failures more than we have been. This is a fight well worth investing in.
