On Ron Paul
4&20 Blackbirds provides some excellent analysis on the Ron Paul Revolution.
As a college student, I have seen a major shift from the people once in the pro-Nader camp to the pro-Paul camp and, honestly, it has confused me to no end. Pauls’ speeches are great and his approach is seductive, but that’s about it. Once you study his policy it gets a little ridiculous and contradictory.
The point is that just because some one is a rebel doesn’t mean they’re right. Counter culture seems to love Ron Paul, but it just doesn’t make any sense. It makes you question the “liberals” that support him – is Ron Paul just a rebel heartthrob who will leave you the next morning saying, “jeez, that was a mistake”?

Wow! That is one of the oddest takes on the Ron Paul reality, I have ever read? No wonder he is having trouble if you represent any sized opinion.
As an old-school republican, to see the term “Liberal” pointed in Dr. Paul’s direction, is difficult to fathom… what part of conservative do you fail to understand? Perhaps things have become so twisted, that constitutional conservative could be something so new to you that liberal is the only tag you can give him?
Dr. Paul, is 1776, style, old-school! He is the only candidate who has an iron-clad voting record for his 20 years in congress, one that still mirrors his positions he has campaigned on today! He has no competition when it comes to honesty in politics. So many tried to find a chink in his armor… all failed! He is the real deal. Like him or not… he is genuine.
I’m a combat Marine veteran from the Vietnam era… and I wish Dr. Paul had been President, when I was called up to serve. 60,000 American casualties later, and we are now friends and trading partners with the communist throughout southeast Asia – So much for the “Red menace.” Now we are fighting more corporate wars for oil, all in the name of defending America, but in reality to enrich a few. What a con-job! I’ve seen it all before. War is good business.
Of course, you can vote McCain to continue with this overpriced aggression, or vote Dem, to insure our willingness to embrace socialism – cradle to grave government entitlement.
I hope you research the issues Ron Paul stands for. It was my own college age sons who turned me on to him. He’s like a ghost from the Continental Congress, resurrected to remind us of how far we have drifted from the Republic, the founding fathers had in mind.
His positions are simple and true. Perhaps, that is what confuses you? The answers are simple… follow the directions, as originally intended. It’s all there!
The era of tax & spend, or borrow & spend, is over! We are broke! The recession/depression we are entering in to will be a good thing. It will halt the the slide, and reset the financial clock. I will be rough, but we will come back.
We need a financial guru to lead us back. Even if he doesn’t become President… the movement to return to constitutional law has begun. Candidates for congress, are being supported who understand the message.
Voting for Obama/Clinton/McCain will only set us back farther. None have any real understanding of the threats to America.
Please, dig deeper in to his positions, you might just have an epiphany! The people who will benefit most, will be the young. You are going to inherit the mess, we old-farts created.
